GROVE MEDIA | MOHEGAN SUN AT POCONO DOWNS

Grove Media, Apple products specialist, had a tight time frame, tight Apple requirements and a tight budget for their new location at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre, PA. It was a challenging task for The Palumbo Group and one we were extremely excited about!

The Palumbo Group worked closely with Grove Media to make sure all of Apple’s stringent furniture floor plans and security measures were understood and met. Once they were met, collaboration began for an exciting new look for Grove, which included using reclaimed barn wood for the back accent wall. The Palumbo Group conceived the idea of using barn wood from an “apple” orchard to give depth and texture to the slick, modern look of the Apple products and to use material with a metaphor.

Careful attention to detail was given every design step of the way. The back wall was painted black prior to installing the barn wood, to give the illusion of the interior of an authentic barn. A white paint for the adjoining walls was carefully chosen to compliment the stunning Apple provided graphics. The Grove Media logo was routed out of the barn wood to reveal the newness of the wood and to relate to the new Apple products. Furniture details include an aluminum reveal in the all of the free standing furniture to work with the meticulously placed aluminum-clad Apple products; modern.

Monolithic quartz tops, are used for durability and for their sleek, glossy surface, and concealed LED lighting is used to illuminate the logo and wall-mounted products. The furniture is painstakingly designed to conceal the sophisticated security system below the quartz tops. The look of the space is sophisticated, modern and authentic!
